Small town, wide footprint.
Middlemount is compact, but the sites that support Bowen Basin coal here are spread out. Accommodation, contractor compounds and storage areas can sit well apart, with limited fixed network between them.
Rather than trenching cable over long distances, we often link sites with licensed or unlicensed wireless point-to-point. A properly engineered link carries CCTV, access control and intercom traffic back to one recording server and one management view.
Where there is no power at all, solar camera towers fill the gap and can be relocated as work moves.
How we connect sites
- Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless
- Fibre backbone where distance allows
- 4G or satellite backhaul for remote towers
- Single Nx Witness view across all sites
- Network design with room for growth
Access that matches the swing.
Small camps still turn over crews on rotation. Inner Range or Gallagher access lets you issue credentials per swing, limit areas by role and see who is on site during an incident.
Because Middlemount is a long way from most service centres, we design for remote diagnostics and keep spare parts lists tight, so issues can be found before anyone drives out.
Common questions.
How far can a wireless link reach?
That depends on line of sight and terrain. We survey the path first and design the link with margin for heat haze and dust.
Can our towers be moved later?
Yes. Solar towers and trailers are built to be relocated as laydown areas and work fronts change.
Do you check systems remotely?
Where the network allows, we monitor device health remotely and plan site visits around what we find.
